Advanced Transplant Providers (ATPs) are vital to the transplant team and community, and ASTS recognizes their service to transplant professionals and transplant patients through the ATP Award. This award recognizes an advanced transplant provider who has dedicated their career efforts in advancing evidence-based clinical and surgical management in transplantation, demonstrates multidisciplinary collaboration, leadership, academic and committee contributions in transplant. Self-nominations are accepted.

One award recipient will be selected each year, contingent upon the availability of funds and the receipt of qualified applications. The award recipient will be recognized during the Awards Ceremony at the 2024 Winter Symposium and will receive:

  • Complimentary registration for Winter Symposium
  • 3 night’s hotel at the Winter Symposium
  • Honoraria to Winter Symposium

Applicant Eligibility

  • ASTS Associate Member
  • Advanced Practice Providers, Nurse Practitioners, Physician Assistants, Transplant Coordinators, and/or those with equivalent degrees such as Masters or Doctorate, PhD, PharmD, and other specialties. Note: physicians (MD, DO, or international equivalent) are not eligible to receive this award, please refer to the ASTS Awards page to learn about our other award offerings..
  • May not be the ASTS Advanced Transplant Provider Award recipient within the last five years.
  • May not be a current ASTS ATP Committee member.

Submission Requirements

  • Nomination letter (500 words maximum, including full name and institution)
  • Leadership qualities (professional, college, community activities including presentations, community work, and publications)
  • Contribution to the advancement of the transplant field, science, and/or practice
  • Immediate and long-term goals and/or accomplishments
  • CV

Review Criteria

Nominations are scored on the following criteria:

  • Academic Contributions. Demonstrates academic contributions through publication, public speaking, or committee involvement.            
  • Enrichment. Enriches transplantation by demonstrating leadership as a mentor in achieving excellence.
  • Mission. Furthers the ASTS mission through project initiatives that benefit patients and promote education.             
  • Promotes. Consistently promotes evidence-based, patient-driven excellence.   
  • Role Model. Serves as a role model in communication, multidisciplinary collaboration, and decision making.              
  • Developed and/or managed projects leading to improved health care and management of patient within the transplant paradigm.
  • Directs and guides health care that produces measurable outcomes in a community/organizational setting.
